The objective of ER24 Pty Limited is to work towards an integrated partnership with the mines to provide expert pre-hospital Paramedical skills. Our aim is to minimise time off work, decrease pain, suffering and anxiety and to promote the best possible recovery of patients. ER24 aspires to the vision of "Zero Harm" in the workplace and community.  We strive to be pro-active in promoting safety in and around the workplace and promote on-going nationally accredited First Aid training sessions for all Employees.

One of the main focuses for ER24 is to deliver a professional high standard of patient care no matter what the time of day or where the incident may have occurred. We also have a strong belief that best practice should be utilised in all situations. We at ER24 pride ourselves in continually improving our patient care delivery and our clinical focus. Quality assurance is met through set protocols and an internal audit process to assist in achieving these objectives through the ER24 Clinical Governance Framework. ER24 supports mine site rescue and ERT capabilities and prides itself on creating and maintaining a close, integrated working relationship to facilitate a team focus between all emergency response groups, health & safety members and the mine itself.

ER24 Paramedics are able to deal with patients in all aspects of acute emergency care and are highly trained as measured against the national standards and have a wide range of experience with all drug therapy interventions with advanced skills and techniques. This includes pre-hospital emergencies in both the medical and trauma situation.

ER24 has an extensive Clinical Practice Guidelines for our paramedics which we operate under “best practice” principles. From a skills point of view, our paramedics are trained and have a minimum of Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Ambulance), or the equivalency of, and hold a current Certificate of Clinical Currency with ER24. Our experienced ER24 paramedics are able to perform advanced medical procedures such as compromised airways, intravenous access, cardiac monitoring and defibrillation. All our Policies, Procedures and Drug Protocols have been fully endorsed and signed off by our Chief Medical Officer and certified by the Drugs and Poisons Policy and Regulation Unit of Queensland Health.

ER24 tailors it's Scope of Service and Job Descriptions for Paramedics to the recommendations of each individual mine in close partnership with the mine's management team.

ER24's core job description for each Paramedic includes:

(a) ability to perform diagnostic and therapeutic duties within the scope of practice
(b) To carry out drug and alcohol testing
(c) To train staff in first aid and emergency care
(d) To provide nationally accredited training courses to the mine rescue crews in:

- Occupational First Aid
- CPR Refresher
- AED Training
- Senior First Aid

(f) To provide emergency treatment at an incident scene
(g) To ensure documentation is completed and submitted in a timely and appropriate manner following each incident
(h) To track and report on Mine Rescue personnel on skills refresher and due dates/expiry dates of qualifications.

To comply with the protocols and standards for the Paramedic Services as per Queensland Health approval under Health Regulations 1996.

ER24 paramedics to maintain an annual Certificate of Clinical Currency, and Authority to Practice Certificate with ER24.

To control the medicines used by the Paramedics

To assist in the formation of emergency protocols in conjunction with the existing disaster management plans

Qualifications

Associated Diploma in Applied Science (Ambulance)
Trainer in 4 wheel drive and network driver trainer
Instructor in Senior First Aid, CPR, Basic First Aid, Advanced Resuscitation Techniques , automatic external defibrillation , Advanced First Aid, Administration of Entonox, Analgesia
Current Certificate of Clinical Practice
Certificate for in train the trainer
